Whiteboard Marker Fun Experiment
Here’s an interesting fun activity using Dry Erase Whiteboard Markers, a glass dish, some water and 2 straws. When we sketch some figures on to the glass dish with the markers it gets dried up. Subsequently on adding water slowly, the figures drawn leave the base of the glass dish and start floating in water.
This is because whiteboard marker has some pigment and a type of alcohol in it. Upon drying the alcohol evaporates while the pigment is left behind as a solid. Since the glass is smooth the solid slides right off when it gets wet!
