CORE SCIENCE CLASSES

What are “Core Science Classes”?

Science can be a lot of fun if taught with experiments and with real life examples of various science concepts. Core Science classes are designed to align with key science topics from major boards including CBSE, ICSE, IB, and IGCSE. Each class focuses on one topic, like friction, digestion, sound, plants, light, etc.

During the class, the teacher explains the concepts related to the topic and demonstrates those through some experiments. The students also perform experiments along with the teacher during the class.

Does the child perform experiments in the classroom?

The classes are conducted in 3 different formats.

Creator Plan: For these sessions, Experihub sends experiment kits to children before the class. During the class, children perform experiments along with the teacher, get to understand the concepts behind the experiments, and also get flash notes and quizzes that give them an edge in school exams and in competitions. These classes can be joined online or offline (at the South Delhi lab).

Tinkerer Plan: In this plan, children are asked to keep some items that are readily available, ready before the class. The teacher explains the concepts and child performs experiments along with the teacher in the class. These classes are available in online mode only.

Observer Plan: In this plan, children get to see the teacher perform certain experiments in the class while teaching the science concepts in live sessions. They do not perform experiments in the class. These classes are available in online mode only.

Note: “Observer” plan is available only for children enrolling for Levels 3, 4 and 5 and is not available for younger children in Levels 1 and 2. Younger children have lower attention span and find it difficult to concentrate, while observing the teacher perform experiments on various science topics.

If the child misses a Core Science session, how can he/she cover up that topic?

These topics are ‘rolling’ and each topic is conducted multiple times in a year. So, if the child misses a session, he/ she can attend when it is conducted again at a later date.

Alternatively, the child can watch the video recording of the session and perform the experiments (with help of the kit provided for the session) and discuss any doubt related to the topic, with the teacher.

What age group are these classes suitable for?

The classes are meant for children in Grades 1 – 8 (age group is 6 – 14). The topics are divided in five levels (Level 1 to Level 5) depending on the age group of children. Each level comprises of 24 different topics and are covered over 24 weeks.

The age groups recommended for these levels are not rigid. Once the child has completed Level 1, he/she can move to Level 2 and then to Level 3, 4 and 5. Sometimes, for younger children, parents prefer to repeat the topics in a level to reinforce the concepts and for better retention.

Can my child attend a trial class?

Yes, we offer a FREE demo session for Core Science classes for interested parents and students.

Since materials cannot be couriered for trials, we request you to keep basic items like printouts, glue, detergent, etc., ready.

The trial class runs for 40-50 minutes and gives you a clear idea of how we teach.

Note: The trial session is similar to the ‘Tinkerer’ plan and could be conducted with an ongoing ‘Tinkerer’ class.

How much do these core science classes cost?

You can enrol in a monthly subscription plan (pay for 4 sessions at a time) or a half-yearly plan (pay for 24 sessions at a time). You can stop the subscription at any time and the enrolment will be discontinued after the enrolled sessions have been availed.

If I have enrolled my child for monthly plan of Core Science Classes but want to move to the half yearly plan, how much will I have to pay?

After your monthly plan classes get over, you can enrol for the remaining classes of that ‘Level’ at the discounted price as offered in the half yearly plan. For example, if your child has availed 8 classes under the monthly plan, you can enrol for remaining 16 classes in that level at the per-class price that is applicable under the half yearly plan.

MODEL MAKING & ROBOTICS WORKSHOPS

What are “Model-making & Robotics Workshops”?

Model making workshops are very exciting sessions where children make science projects and working models by applying multiple science concepts.

Every child gets his/ her individual working station and all the materials required for the workshop are provided at the centre. Students can take their models home after the workshop.

Workshops are conducted for Children in Grades 3 – 10 (age group 9 – 16).

These models demonstrate concepts related to light, electricity, motion, sound, and other scientific principles.

For older children (age group 12 – 16), we also have workshops covering concepts of electronics (understanding circuits, working on breadboards and using various sensors) and robotics (working on arduino boards and using tinkercad) with AI to develop interesting working models.

What is the format of these workshops?

Typically the science model-making workshops are for 2.5 hours (150 minutes) duration. These are conducted Offline, at our lab in South Delhi. In one workshop, children normally make 2 working models, right from scratch. We do provide a small, refreshment break in between the two models.

Robotics workshops (with Arduino boards) might run for 3-5 days (2 hours in a day) and the child would make multiple projects covering electronics, robotics and AI concepts.

These workshops are conducted over weekends and public holidays, round the year – so there is a lot for children to tinker and explore!

How are Model-Making Workshops different from Core Science classes?

Each Core Science Class is aligned to a single Science topic and the focus is to understand the concepts by doing experiments related to that topic. In Model Making Workshops, children make science projects and working models by applying multiple science concepts.

In Core Science classes, most experiments use perishable items. The ‘models’ created in Model-Making workshops can be ‘carried home’ or can be demonstrated even after the workshop.

Core Science classes are augmented with some concept videos, flash notes and quizzes on the topic covered. These classes are meant to strengthen concepts of various Science topics and help children by providing them an academic edge in school exams.

Model-Making workshops are meant to inculcate the joy of tinkering and to give the child the feeling to work independently. These workshops are not aligned with any curricula and are conducted to build an exploratory mindset. In these workshops, children understand how science is applied in real-life, in mega-scale projects in different industries.

Can my child enroll for Model Making Workshops along with the Core Science classes?

YES. The Model-Making workshops are conducted on different days (mostly on weekends and public holidays) and do not conflict with the Core Science workshops.

Model-making workshops are conducted in Offline mode only. Core Science classes can be attended in Online or Offline mode.

AI CLASSES

What are “AI Classes” and how are they conducted?

AI Classes are designed as small modules, on some interesting topics related to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Generative AI, Agentic AI and related topics.  The programs are meant for children who are in Grades 5 – 12 (age group 11 – 18) and for senior folks who are new to AI and want to understand these technologies as users or technology enthusiasts.

These classes are conducted Online and child needs to have a laptop/ desktop computer to work on for these sessions.
